How important is it to take care of our skin?
Skin is the largest organ of our body and performs a “barrier” function.
Proceeding from the most superficial part to the deepest part, it is made up of the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis. Stratum corneum of the epidermis is made up of intercellular lipids, including fatty acids. They are the natural constituents of our barrier, involved in a series of physiological processes, including the synthesis of eicosanoids, hormones that mediate the body’s inflammatory processes. An alteration of this barrier causes skin abnormalities.
Which sources of essential fatty acids should you prefer?
The two precursors of the Omega 3 and Omega 6 family are exclusively of plant origin.
What are the benefits of a plant-based source?
